Excess water in the Lake Borgne
Levee District is pumped from residential areas into Lake Borgne,
which is situated 8 ft above the town. The pump station is powered
by three 72-in. AFV Patterson centrifugal pumps, each delivering
140,000 gpm.
"When we get heavy rains, I depend on the pumps to get the
water level down quick. If they don't work, a lot of people will
be wet," says Huey P. Long, operator at Jean LaFitte Pump Station
No.6.
"We needed pumps you could count on, and these Patterson pumps
have never let us down."
The next time the water level starts to rise in your neighborhood,
get a pump you can depend on ... Patterson. |
