Today’s Patterson vertical
turbine technology is the product of more than 50 years of vertical
pump experience. This refined design concept produces exceptional
hydraulic performance, with low vibration and noise levels. Pumping
sections can be staged as necessary to meet desired pressure requirements.
Vertical turbine units require only minimal floor space, and the
pumps operate in low NPSHA applications. The above-grade discharge,
motor and controller allow easy, safe maintenance.
Patterson MPVT® pumps are widely used in municipal/
industrial solids handling, water
treatment, flood control and water
supply applications. The MPVT is specifically designed to handle stringy
solids.
MPVT pumps have bowl sizes ranging from 12 in. to 40 in. Capacities
range from 1,500 to 20,000 gpm and above. Standard units have cast
iron discharge heads, fabricated steel column, stainless steel head
and bowl shafts, alloy steel line shaft and cast iron bronze fitted
bowls. Open line shaft construction is standard.
The standard line shaft is Type 416 SS and is enclosed in a Sch.
80 enclosing tube with bronze bearings. The generous pump column
diameter exhibits favorable natural frequencies, reduced vibration
and greater durability. The discharge head is designed for high efficiency
with a continuous-radius, miterless elbow and an integral splitter
vane. The single-piece, non-clog, 3-vane cast pump bowl diffuser
is designed for high efficiency and superior vibration characteristics.
Bowl bearings are encased in an easily removable cartridge assembly.
Pump disassembly is not required to replace the bearing cartridge.
Special construction requiring stainless steel or aluminum bronze
is available, and fabricated steel heads in lieu of cast iron are
available in both above and below grade discharge configurations.
Impeller and bowl wear rings are available options.
