When suspended solids
complicate your pumping chores, the Patterson Type “F” offers
an efficient solution. These heavy duty, non-clogging workhorses
are on the job worldwide in wastewater
plants and industrial settings
such as food plants, meat, poultry and fish processing facilities,
pulp and paper mills, minerals plants, chemical plants--anywhere
sludge or other unscreened solids with diameters up to 8 in. are
found.
Large Type “F” units are available in more than
17 standard models and many custom configurations. Capacities range
from 500 to 100,000 gpm, with heads to 150 ft. Where flows include
abrasive solids, special, wear-resistant casings lengthen service
life and reduce maintenance overhead. They are now available with
a seal design that requires no flush water.
Vertical configurations are normally direct coupled. They can be
designed for a dry pit where the intermediate drive shaft from the
motor is located some distance above the pump. Intermediate shafting
of the customer's choice is custom fabricated to desired lengths.
Standard shafting is a universal joint type that will ensure satisfactory
operation through temperature changes, foundation settling or other
changing conditions.
Horizontal pumps are directly connected to the motor through a flexible
coupling. Heavy duty cast iron and steel supports ensure long trouble-free
service. Sturdy base plates can be fabricated to suit particular
needs, with "drip lips" if desired. Large grout holes are
provided in each base as standard.
